Along the time i have been playing didgeridoo i find there is a
repetitive pattern: there is a lack of formation and information.
To learn to play good didgeridoo you have to travel abroad, either
to central Europe or to Australia.
There is another thing i realized: learning is expensive.
Last year there were several didgeridoo workshops at Arbúcies
Tribales festival, but many people wanted to get greater depth into
the instrument.
Didgweek comes up with the idea of filling up this emptines.
During 2002 summer, with the idea in my mind, i started to contact
the teachers i most liked (in a personal and in a professional level)
to try to bring them to Spain.
That way a difficult selection started. It was about findind the
best didg players, but also was about findind persons who were approchable
and clear in their workshops in a way that their future pupils could
feel comfortable working with them in a one to one relationship.
From July 27th to 31st (just before Tribales Festival) at Torrelles
de LLobregat ( 15 Km. from Barcelona).
Teachers: Lies Beijerink from Amsterdam, Matthias Müller from
Switzerland, Ansgar Stein from Germany and ... Michael Jackson from
Australia (Axis Band).
You will be able to catch up during five days in a farm surrounded
by nature, with swimming pool, open spaces to work...
Each of them will give a separate workshop where you will be introduced
into their own style and way of understanding didgeridoo.
Each day there will be 8 hours lecture (2 daily hours by teacher),
having time for eating and leisure.
The workshop price is 450€. Including all lessons, meals (breakfast,
lunch and dinner) and acommodation.
Way to pay: 150€ as registration and the remaining 300€
once at the house.
